Syrah (aka Shiraz) Tasting at San Jose State – UNLV Football Game
9 November 2009

The theme at this event was “Syrah $20 and Up”.  One low priced ringer was included, the Australian ‘07 Jacob’s Creek Shiraz which, although it ranked last in this tasting, was in very stiff competition. All the wines had favorable comments from the seven tasters.

Finally, although the ‘05 Buena Vista tied for first with the ‘06 Frei Brothers, the Buena Vista had more first place rankings (4) than did the Frei Brothers (2).
