Results from the September 15th, 2007, Chateau Garage tasting — Cabernets from South America — held at the San Jose State/Stanford
tailgate.
Below are the results of the tasting. A total of eighteen ballots were scored for two flights. The prevailing comments heard
indicated that almost all of the wines shared a common somewhat medicinal herbaceous character.
Not necessarily unpleasant, but quite different from the Cabernets from California with which most of us are familiar. Also, it appeared that the selection of South American Cabernets is somewhat limited, as witnessed by the duplications.
